– THIS RESTAURANT HAS CLOSED DOWN –

Impressively large and well decorated Mexican restaurant, a bit hidden behind a 70s style apartment building on Ledras.

    My review

I will agree with the other reviewers. The food is yiammy and atmosphere is very good.

    Great food, drinks and service

I was so happy to discover this restaurant in Nicosia as I'd been pretty disappointed with Mexican restaurant options in the area. Made with fresh ingredients, the food is yammy and feels authentic enough for Cyprus. Plenty of quality veggie options too! Oh, and a strawberry daiquiri or a strawberry margarita is a must!

Tasty Mexican meals, sociable personnel, nice and ambient environment

I went to this restaurant and I must admit that I really loved the food and the way it was served. I agree that if it wasn't so hidden, it would have been jam-packed with people. I went on a Saturday night and almost half of it was empty!

    Very good overall effort

I ate at Aztecas last night and have to agree almost completely with the prior reviewer.

    (1) Restaurant would be much busier if it was more visible

    (2) This is one of the best Mexican (well Tex-Mex) restaurants in Cyprus and by Cyprus Mexican food standards a clear 4 stars (I would rate it a bit lower if it were in the United States but that is a whole different scale of competition for Tex-Mex)

    (3) Overall, we ate the following:

Guacamole: This was just OK - it was at least recognizable as guacamole which is atypical for Cyprus, but still not really done right.

    Salsa: Very spicy; excellent

Chicken enchilada covered with cheese: Very nice and very large portion

Chicken-Beef fajitas: Also very nice, very large portion

Strawberry margaritas: Good, went down easy; a bit too sweet.

Overall a very respectable effort for Cyprus Mexican.

Dinner for two as noted above was about 50 euros, so a bit on the pricey side for what it is, but within the range of the caliber of facility and food.

    Good quality, friendly service

I truly believe that if this restaurant was not so hidden it would be packed every week. Both times I ate here the restaurant was quite empty and it's a pity because the food is actually really good. It may very well be because of its location at the very end of Ledra's street where not much is happening.

Last time we were there we ordered fajitas and chimichangas and enjoyed it over a nice bottle of Shiraz. The service was really food, friendly and with an appropriate dose of humor, especially when I ordered extra hot sauce (I like my tex-mex spicy). It was liquid fire but I took it like a champ :)

Like a couple of other Mexican restaurants in Cyprus they also have their own blend of strawberry margarita, which I think is the best one I tried so far. The glasses are twice the size as at other places and at Aztecas they actually use fresh strawberries instead of the canned stuff.

It came out a bit on the expensive side, but totally justified.
