Simple and friendly, no extreme flavours, old fashioned Cypriot cooking.
Haris (the owners first name) is a great character and very friendly (as is his wife).
As a starting point order a Village Salad for just 2 euros (June 2011) it's a great lunchtime treat. We visited on 5 occasions on our 2 week holiday.
We talked about Kleftico (slow cooked lamb and potato)one day for our friends birthday. Haris said that if we give him one day notice he would prepare a special one for us, which he did and it was delicious. His wife baked a simple (but delicious) sponge cake while we were there and brought it out at the end with a candle on the top (free).
On another visit we had a delicious Mousakka.
On our last day Haris arranged a taxi to the airport and, because he was local got a great price (we saved almost 20 euros on the taxi!
Haris also has a large swimming pool. I think this is a legacy from the past when there was few holiday accomodations around and the restaraunt was sat in a rural landscape. The pool was clean and surrounded by a well tended lawn.
It's simple and clean, there are the usuals (pizza etc) to cater for the English with no imagination.
The menu is priced in euro and pound (but the pound is based on the last cypriot pound price NOT U.K. pounds!).
By the time we came home we had met the whole family, daughters, son, grandaughters!
Happy memories
