Delicious, home-made traditional taste
Even though I don't eat "glyko" as often as I would prefer, there is a permanent stash of Katerina's karydaki (walnut sweet) in my fridge. Friends from the village used to bring my family home-made sweets all the time and this one tastes exactly like those.
My personal favorite glyko is the apricot and "kaisi" but the walnut and watermelon are the most popular (and exotic) and the ones that I usually take to my non-Cypriot friends as gifts when I visit them. What's also great about Katerina's Sweets is that you can find them pretty much everywhere, from small grocery stores to large supermarkets.
Highly recommended as a traditional gift to foreign friends but also as a solid option for family dessert.
