Michael Ioannides

As a Founding Partner Michael is a Company Lawyer and Litigator with substantial experience in advanced litigation and complex structuring advice.
Michael and his team's advisory work is focused on large multi and uni jurisdictional transactions, listings, syndications, contract drafting, negotiation, arranging, fiduciary and regulation. The team also works as NOMAD for Cyprus Stock Exchange.

In this respect, he has being retained by Banks (both local and EU), Governmental Authorities, EU Authorities, Fund Managers and Funds, Financial Services Companies, Public Companies (both Cyprus Stock Exchange or International Markets), Private Companies and Private Individuals.
He is also a Certified Business Consultant and he is enjoying early Venture Capital work. In this respect, he works closely with business from all industries and service sectors, in relation to their early steps from cradle to flotation.

Michael's litigation work includes shareholders disputes, company fraud cases and major corporate and financial claims. His advanced litigation work is highlighted by his involvement in major public financial crisis events in Cyprus, such as the Stock Exchange Crisis in 1999 – 2000 and the recent Cyprus Bail – In in 2013.

At an early stage of his career (1999 – 2006) he was retained and handled hundreds of stock exchange disputes following the 1999 stock exchange bubble. Cases included investor accounts disputes, complex market manipulation and regulation cases and financial services compliance disputes. In this period Michael and his team was acting on behalf of investors, financial services companies and the Cyprus Association of Investors.

Currently , Michael is retained by the Cyprus Depositors Association and handles over 1200 claims related to the Cyprus Bail – In of 2013. The claims include recourses in European and Local Courts.

Savvas Angelides

Savvas is the Head of the Litigation Department and a senior partner of LLPO. He is a Barrister (from Gray's Inn) and a dedicated senior litigation lawyer. His practice includes complex criminal cases, “bet-the-company” commercial litigation and advanced compensation claims. He was admited to the Cypriot Bar Association in 1998.
On a day-to-day basis Savvas handles criminal and civil actions, out of court cases, but is also known for his excellent advise towards clients.
He is a member of PEOPIL (Pan European Organisation of Personal Injury Lawyers). Savvas has also participated in numerous seminars and conferences as a key speaker and honorary guest speaker relating to subjects such as Forensic Criminal Investigation, Legal Strategies of a Criminal Lawyer, Preparation of Defence in a Criminal Action.

Savvas has remarkable rates of won cases both in criminal and civil Courts and his practice is characterized by his ability to force results early. He is recognised for his wide level of advocacy experience. He has successfully defended his clients in cases involving serious organized crime, murder and manslaughter, sexual offences, drugs offences, assault, firearms, counterfeit goods, road traffic motoring offences as well as personal injury, cases such as employers liability and medical negligence cases.

Savvas has dealt with over 150 cases in Criminal Courts. Moreover , he took over numerous arbitration cases relating to contractual as well as economical terms.

Andreas Leonidou

Andreas is a Founding Partner of LLPO Law Firm with a very wide professional experience in Real Estate, Commercial, Corporate and Sports Law.
Andreas has been involved in substantial number of agreements concerning real estate matters including mergers and acquisitions of companies dealing with property. Andreas has participated in setting up new Real Estate projects. Furthermore, he advises companies in Real Estate matters and provides legal advice to Cypriot institutions, companies and individuals with interests in the sectors of Construction and Real Estate.

Andreas is also well experienced in Sports Law issues, especially Football. He deals with drafting and reviewing of football players, players agents and football clubs contracts and also he represents football players, players agents and football clubs for negotiating their contracts. He has been the General Secretary of Athletic Club Omonoia Nicosia, the biggest football team in Cyprus.

He is also well experienced in Company Law issues. He has deals with drafting sale of share agreements, drafting and reviewing of merge and acquisitions agreements, drafting standard registration and corporate documents, drafting of bonds agreements, due diligence of companies, preparation of application for the listing of companies to the Emerging Market of the Cyprus Stock Exchange, Restructuring of companies, Tax Planning, Attending and Organizing Board of Directors meetings and general legal support to companies.

Andreas also deals with Commercial Law issues such as drafting and reviewing contracts of different issues, including sales contracts, supply of goods, loan, rent, agency agreements, warehousing, commission.

Furthermore, Andreas is appointed by the Council of Ministers as a member of Stock Exchange since 2005.

Christos Ioannides

Christos is the youngest partner of the firm. He practices law both as a litigator and as transactions counsellor in the field of commercial law. As a litigator, he has successfully safeguarded the interests of his clients both before criminal and civil courts. As a counsel, he has advised on the methods under which clients achieved their commercial objectives.

Christos is involved in Litigation particularly in cases connected with Commercial Law (both in its civil and criminal dimension), Intellectual Property cases and Employment law, all with great success.

Examples are civil actions involving claims for compensation for stock market and other regulated markets manipulation, claims for damages resulting from regulated investment firms breach of statutory duties, cases involving infringements of copyright and other intellectual property rights. Moreover, under his commercial expertise he is involved in corporate debt collection through debt collection procedures but also on debt restructuring through company law procedures.

Examples of criminal cases are those consisting of offences related to Financial Crimes, Fraud and Misrepresentation, Anti-Money Laundering Proceedings, Failure in Executing Directors' duties, Preparing and Circulating Forged Documents offences, Forged Accounts offences, Unlawful Making of Profit related offences, Financial Services and other Regulatory offences and other related offences.

Inevitably, he is regularly involved in cases which require the issuing of interim orders to safeguard the fruitful conclusion of litigation. Examples of such orders are the popular Mareva Injunction, but also Norwich Pharmacal and Anton Piller orders.
