Loukia Dimitriou-Lysioti is a Psychologist and a Systemic Family Psychotherapist in the private domain in Larnaca. She works with children, young people, adults, couples and families, who experience a wide range of difficulties and circumstances, as well as relationship problems. These include, family communication problems, child and adolescent behaviour difficulties, mental health problems, couple relationship difficulties, traumatic experiences, loss and bereavement, eating disorders and more.
She has studied Psychology in the USA (BSc) and completed her postgraduate studies in Family Therapy (PGDip & MSc), and Psychopathology (MSc) in the UK.
In the USA she worked at a child and adolescent mental health hospital, and as a crisis counsellor for people with various mental health difficulties. In the UK she worked in diverse mental health centres for children and adolescent, in couple and family therapy services, and in two specialised eating disorder units in London.
Loukia Dimitriou-Lysioti is a member of the Association for Family Therapy (AFT) in the UK, and the secretary of the Cyprus Society of Family Therapy (CySoFT). Loukia is also involved with the Cyprus Eating Disorders Association and gives seminars/workshops to students, educators and parents in eating disorders. Loukia is married and has a little boy.
