Value for money, excellent service
Well, it's got a menu full of seafood which i like, various prawn sizes, mussels, squid etc which i also like, but they're all cooked with exactly the same sauce and spices, which is boring. It's basically like Nandos but with seafood instead of chicken.
The platters are good for sharing but to be honest there's not much variety in their menu, only the same things in different quantities in each platter or dish.
They do make sushi though and it's of fairly good quality and cheap compared to some other sushi places in Paphos.
The staff is indeed very friendly and a great asset to the restaurant. The location is also very good and the place is nicely decorated for what it is.
I'd recommend it for someone who likes seafood but isnt overly passionate about it (as i am) because basically once you go once it's like you've already tried the whole menu. I do have to say that it does offer good value for money as regards to eating seafood in restaurants though.
To be honest I'd much rather buy my seafood myself and cook it at home better and tastier.
Prawn Platters, Grilled Cod Fish
Ocean Basket is the one of the best fish restaurants in Cyprus. Food is fresh, sauces are excellent, restaurant is very clean and the staff is very polite and frienly. I have found out that in addition to Paphos and Limassol branches, Larnaca Branch will serve as of Feb./March 2011 and I am waiting for the third branch. Since I live in Famagusta, Larnaca Branch will be closer to me. I strickly advise this restaurant to all... Visit the web www.oceanbasket.com for menus. I like the prawn platters with rice... Food and atmosphere
The Ocean Basket is a fun place to go and eat. It's nearly all seafood and they have friend and frilled fish as well as prawns and also things like sushi and oysters.
The atmosphere is great and you could spend hours reading the funny comments that they have all over the restaurant on the walls.
The food was good and there was enough of it - the platters are the best thing to have when you are in a group with any accompanyments you might like.
Overall a very fun place to eat with great seafood.
