variety and diversification of menu, price

I had a business lunch today, and must say that I am very much impressed. I think the name PIZZA MIA suggests pizza, but its much more than that.

They offer a very nive buffet that even some 5* hotels would envy. Large selection of salads, large selection of canapes, cheeses and antipasto and an even larger selection of main dishes. I think they had 5 varieties of chicken, 2 varieties of pork, beef, prawns and much more. Excellent food, very good service at a fully air-conditioned restaurant (both indoors and verandas). The manager is very helpful and food is served promptly (my friend ordered from the menu)The price of 11EUR is excellent value for money. I strongly recommend them

    My review

On Satarday they have buffet with a variety of salads pastas pizzas and even anti-pastas food. Very good choice and good quality. The also have a small play ground for children not a fancy one but the children can spent some time until you finish your food. Very slow Service thought.

Quality pizza, generous portions on pastas and salads, fresh ingredients.

I would have given a 5-star review but it would be solely for a specific pizza in their menu, the "Mamma Lucia". This is easily the best pizza I have ever had at a restaurant in Cyprus. That is if you like a combination of fresh and dried mozzarella, pepperoni, fresh basil, sun-dried tomatoes, green peppers and pine nuts. Personally, I go nuts for those flavors.

What makes this pizza special though is that the sauce is a mix of tomato and pesto, giving it that extra tang and combining perfectly with the sun-dried tomatoes, pine-nuts and fresh basil. The fact that it is also cooked in a wood-burning oven makes it even more special. It is by far my favorite pizza in Cyprus by any standard. Nothing like a glass of good wine and all those Mediterranean flavors.

I can't say much about the restaurant's atmosphere as I usually have Pizza Mia delivery. It has always struck me as a restaurant for a quick meal, but like I said, I haven't dined there so I wouldn't be the best judge.

Pizza Mia also makes decent pastas and salads. The portions are really big but they do have a mini-version for pastas. They used to have one for salads too but not any more. All salads come with a delicious loaf of freshly baked bread (that's right, freshly baked) from their wood-burning ovens and that plus the large portion justifies the relatively high price for a salad.

On thing I found a bit strange is their definition of the size "medium" for a pizza. Apparently it means a six-slice thin-crust pizza, while the "regular" size is also a six-slicer but a thick crust pizza. That has always struck me as a bit odd, but anyway. I would say a hungry individual could easily down either the medium or the regular. Their 4-slicer really is for one (not too hungry) person while there are large and family sizes for more people.

Delivery time is acceptable (30-40 minutes) and the pizza always arrives hot. The staff on the phone is friendly and efficient. Overall, a solid and highly recommended option for pizza.

    Tasty, Straightforward

Pizza Mia is a Limassol chain that has come to Nicosia. This branch is located in the central strip of restaurants and bars on Spyros Kyprianou.

It is, overall, a nice casual restaurant with a family orientation. As expected, the emphasis is on many different types of pizza. Nicely, they are all made from scratch and baked in three very nice large wood-burning ovens.

I find the pizza to be good pizza in the Cyprus-style, which is a bit different than what you would find in New York or Italy. (Which means: not a lot of tomato sauce, heavy amounts of toppings mushed in rather than on top of the cheese and served with ketchup). So, a bit different, but still tasty.

There is also a full menu of other food (pasta, hamburgers, salad bar, etc) but I cannot comment on it because I have never had anything other than pizza here.

Pricing is moderate. A large Pizzamania pizza with multiple toppings is 20 euros and would easily feed three. With the free appetizers and a drink you would not really need anything else. Parking can be had in the back for 2 euros and they also deliver.

Staff is primarily non-Cypriot, ranges from friendly to somewhat indifferent and may or may not speak Greek, but you are not here for fine French dining so it does not really impact the experience heavily either way.

The photos section covers the pizza and restaurant fairly well.

Summary: Easy, family oriented comfort food. A solid recommendation.
