    Great promotions

The staff may not be too helpful or nice but the sales are great. The buy one get one free sales are awesome especially on alcohol. Overall carrefour is great and easy to shop for food weekly. I recommend buying bread at zorbas because it is cheaper and better.

cheap, sales posted, location right near the University of Nicosia in the Mall of Engomi, organized

Carrefour is awesome. They have everything, and there is a huge sign in front of the store before you walk in that details all the sales going on for the day. For newcomers, I recommend taking a second to observe what the locals are (and aren't) buying. Fruits and veggies are cheap and fresh. Buy meat and cheese from the deli; avoid prepackaged, and avoid American brand names, which are often outrageously expensive. You'll get the hang of it. I have no complaints. Great location, too, in the Mall of Engomi right across from Super Home (and Cinnabon...mmm...)

    My review

Like the Walmart of Cyprus. Have just about everything I needed. And prices were cheap... enough. =)

Except... there's one cashier who I will call "Broccoli lady", she threw bags at me because I couldn't get them to open. I hope she doesn't slip and break her clavicle on my broccoli that she threw on the ground... not.

Oh! they also have an atm in front.

It is close by, the employees are mostly really nice and helpful

This Carrefour is super convenient for students that attend the University of Nicosia because it's so close the school and to student apartments. The prices are generally not that bad, but for students from the States or Canada everything may seem a bit more expensive because of the Euro. The produce is relatively fresh, but it's hard to find decent romaine lettuce that doesn't go bad in a few days. Perhaps a cheaper alternative to the produce at Carrefour is Green Valley, which is a small business less than a block away. They seem to have more deals in terms of fruit and vegetables. Carrefour is nice, though, because you can always sample the break of the say in the bakery section at the back. You can buy containers of different dips (ie Hummus) but if you go by the produce there are women there that sell fresher dips for cheaper. there you can also find bigger quantities of sun dried tomatoes. Upstairs is where you'll find everything other than food, like school supplies, computers, TVs, toiletries, etc. Also there is a Carrefour "discount" card, but it's not actually a discount card. You basically just collect points and when you have a certain amount you can purchase random things like pots and pans.
