Starz Steakhouse

Probably the best steakhouse in Nicosia. Very well prepared dishes, excellent service, good environment. Prices are quite high, but personally if quality costs, I am OK with that.

This place has a very good atmosphere and a good (best I think) selection of different steaks.

It was nice to be informed the last time I was there by the onwer or manager that they do not recommend the cut of meat I had chosen to be cooked "blue" and that if I did want it cooked like that then I should choose one of the cuts he presented.

The food is excellent and the selection of wines very good as well and this ties in with the excellent service too.

My only issue is the price - it's expensive for what it is.

Starz steakhouse is an American-themed steakhouse in Makedonitissa, located slightly hidden on the second floor of a commercial building.

This review is in two parts.

From a Cypriot perspective, this is quite a good steakhouse. There are many steaks that are USDA prime shipped to Cyprus and some lower-priced (but still very good) steaks from New Zealand.

Overall, the food was quite credible and good and definitely on the high-end of Cypriot steakhouses -- among the best efforts I have seen in Cyprus in this genre.

The pricing, however, was also quite high (134 euros for 3 people on a Monday night without appetizers, dessert or wine) and so, at that price point, it must accept some nit-picking and a comparison to the American steakhouses it emulates.

By that standard, there are a couple of areas that were slightly off base - the entrees were pure steakhouse; but the appetizers where more Americana in style -- the spinach artichoke dip; nachos and potato skins that are more properly found in a TGI Fridays than in a high-end steak house; Also, the meat was good, but did not reach the standard of char-broiled goodness of the finest American steakhouses. I suspect the heat of the oven might be the culprit.

Service was very good at all levels and the restaurant also had a fairly extensive wine list.

So, overall:

(1) Good food in a serious environment
(2) Expensive for Nicosia standards
(3) judged at its price point, there is still some room for improvement to fully hit the American steakhouse high-end mark.

My family own a steak house in England. I've been raised learning about good quality meat and how it should be cooked. Starz steakhouse is the only steakhouse I will eat at. The food is simply amazing. I normally order a rockford cheese sauce with my steak which is extreamly tasty. The steak is cooked just the way I like it and Iseriously recommend this restaurant to all meat lovers.

I have been to Starz Steakhouse many times before. The service is always very good and all the dishes are well prepared and cooked to perfection (specifically referring to the steaks). I have never been disappointed with anything from their menu. My favourites are the Starz Combo Platter and Prime Teriyaki Tenderloin Bites for starters, and for main course the New York Strip and the Porterhouse Steak.
