Unfortunately, this is the wrong image Cyprus needs to portray about wine-making.

I believe that if you are going to produce something, then do not do it unless you know what you are making.

I too was told that rose was a "special" blend of red and white wine to give a perfect taste.

    Absolutely clueless.

Nice man, but totally clueless about wine

Our visit at Sterna was quite the disappointment. Unfortunately, the owner treats the making of wine more like a hobby rather than an art form. It was sad to see that he lacked any sort of education on winemaking other than the pass-me-down "wisdom" from the "experts" that have kept Cypriot winemaking at the sorry state it has been for so many years.

It's great to see some small wineries popping up and taking winemaking seriously, but this ain't one of them. When you are expected to do wine-tasting in shot-glasses, served black olives when tasting white wine, or listening to how rose wine is made by mixing red and white wine, then enough said.

Someone should make these people stop.
