The winery was founded in 2006 by Akis Zambartas. Winemakers are Akis and his son Marcos Zambartas, both university trained. Akis was the chief-winemaker for one of the biggest wineries in Cyprus for many years and studied wine making in France. Marcos gained his wine making degree and experience in Australia.
The current portfolio of the winery consists of two white wines (Zambartas Xynisteri and Zambartas Semillon-Sauvignon Blanc), a Rose (Zambartas Rose)and two reds (Zambartas Maratheftiko and Zambartas Shiraz-Lefkada).
The wines have been awarded in local and international wines competitions the past few years and has gained recognition among consumers and journalists.

The wines & the people
If you are a winelover, I would highly recommend visiting this winery! Akis, Marcos and Marleen (who is Dutch) are running this family owned boutique winery and they are amazing people. During a tour on the winery they told us everything about the wines and the winemaking process (and besides, they gave us a lot of tips what to do on Cyprus). After the tour we got the chance to taste a selection of their wines. In my opinion they make one of the best wines Cyprus has to offer! Do not forget to try the Rosé (Lefkada-Cabernet Franc), it is absolutely fabulous. We bought a few bottles to enjoy during our holidays and even brought some bottles home to the Netherlands (Marleen made sure it was packaged well). If you want to do a winetour and tasting do not forget to make a reservation. Definitely worth a visit and we are coming back the next time we are in Cyprus!
